Damon Connolly is currently representing Marin and Southern Sonoma County in the California
Assembly and has served the public as a Deputy Attorney General prosecuting energy
companies who gouged ratepayers. He also served as School Board President, San Rafael City
Council Member, and Marin County Supervisor. He was a founding board member of Marin
Clean Energy and served as chair for four years.
As an Assembly member he has served as Vice-Chair Joint Legislative Committee on Climate
Policy. He has also consistently worked for climate-friendly measures including greenhouse gas
emission reporting, clean energy, enabling electric vehicles, and expanding land conservation.
He knows the value of ensuring that California demonstrates to the world that we can reduce
emissions and transition to a thriving carbon neutral economy.
As Damon says, “I believe we need to show the global community that California can effectively
meet its ambitious climate goals, particularly our emission reduction targets. The Legislature
can help accomplish these goals by continuing to expand clean energy options and
electrification of the grid, as well as committing to reducing our usage of fossil fuels and
reduction of emissions from all sources.”
Damon understands the urgency of climate change and is poised to carry key climate
