Eric Lucan has spent nearly two decades in public service, beginning with the Novato City Parks and Recreation Commission, then serving three terms as Mayor, before being elected to the Marin County Board of Supervisors. He has built a record of bringing people together to tackle some of the North Bay’s most pressing challenges, including housing, transportation, economic development, and climate resilience.
As a longtime leader on regional transportation, Eric has served for more than a decade on the boards of SMART and the Transportation Authority of Marin. During that time, he helped advance major transportation infrastructure projects and championed making public transit more accessible, including prioritizing free SMART fares for youth and seniors.
Eric has made climate resilience and sustainability a central part of his public service. He has focused on tangible projects that protect residents and infrastructure from wildfires, flooding, sea level rise, and drought, recognizing that communities across the North Bay are already experiencing the impacts of climate change.
