Even before she entered public office, Mayor Holli Thier was a powerful force for good in the fight against climate change. A lifelong environmentalist and attorney, she sued fossil fuel companies on behalf of the State of Alaska against – proving she has what it takes to stand up to Big Oil.
In 2017 she was elected to the Tiburon City Council and has twice served as Mayor. In that office, she declared a Climate Emergency in Tiburon, introduced a Building Electrification Road Map, and initiated pilot programs for clean energy ferries. In addition, Mayor Holli has dedicated much of her free time as an elected leader in the Sierra Club. She also helped develop clean energy projects as a Director with Marin Clean Energy and Clean Power San Francisco.
If elected, Holli will prioritize removing fossil fuel subsidies, expanding clean transportation projects like the SMART train, and making agriculture more climate-friendly through electrification and sustainable farming.
Climate Action California believes that Mayor Holli would be a powerful climate champion in Sacramento, and we are excited to endorse her for the State Assembly.
*NOTE: CAC is endorsing multiple candidates in this race. CAC only endorses candidates we believe will be strong climate legislators, and in this case more than one candidate met our criteria.
