AD 2: Chris Rogers

Chris Rogers

Chris Rogers was the youngest mayor in Santa Rosa history and has served on the City Council since 2016 where he made addressing climate change one of his top priorities. He created a Climate Action Committee, and the city has adopted a goal to be carbon neutral by 2030. Chris has worked as staff for California state and federal legislators, legislative director for a green energy company, and as the executive director of Sonoma County Conservation Action and the Conservation Action Fund for Education.

Chris also serves as a board member of Sonoma Clean Power (Sonoma County’s Community Choice Aggregator) and Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit, and currently chairs the Sonoma County Transportation Authority and Regional Climate Protection Authority.  Chris supports bans on all new oil drilling and fracking; increasing CA speed and investment on renewable energy production; investing in battery technology and bidirectional charging infrastructure; focusing on systems changes in addition to individual actions; and ensuring progressive climate policies are enacted to lift communities harmed by climate change.

Climate Action California believes Chris has an impressive track record of local experience and environmental victories, and he will be one of our strongest voices to address climate change in the Assembly.
