Gregg Hart

Gregg Hart has served in the California Assembly since 2022, representing the 37th district. Gregg serves on sAssemblymember Gregg Hart began his professional career as a legislative assistant for State Assemblymember Jack O’Connell before he became the original manager of the Santa Barbara County Association of Government’s (SBCAG) Traffic Solutions program, where he promoted local green and sustainable transportation options. His tenure as a City Councilor and California Coastal Commissioner showed him the real importance of protecting our environment in the face of climate change.

Upon his election to the State Assembly in 2022, Assemblymember Hart immediately championed bold bills to protect our coasts and our climate. For example, AB 631 imposed penalties for oil and gas polluters and AB 1866 lit a fire under fossil fuel companies to plug their idle wells. And this year, he authored two bills that CAC supported, AB 2569 and AB 2627 which will protect the health and safety of Californians during CEQA review, and expand conservation efforts.

Assemblymember Hart is committed to transitioning to clean energy, which will create good-paying jobs and reduce California’s reliance on imported fossil fuels. He has also been a fierce advocate for protections of California’s open spaces, wildlands, and coastal areas. Because of this, Climate Action California is proud to endorse Assemblymember Hart for re-election.
