AD 42: Deborah Klein Lopez

Deborah Klein Lopez

Deborah Klein Lopez began her career in financial analysis and project management, before transitioning to public service as a staffer in the California State Senate and Assembly. In November 2018, she was elected to the Agoura Hills City Council. After the Woolsey Fire ripped through her district, she led the Council to pass a first-in-the-region Climate Action and Adaptation Plan.

Deborah also served on the Board of Clean Power Alliance, the largest provider of 100% renewable energy in the nation, and in 2024 became its Chair. In the eight years since its inception, CPA now provides more than 70% of its customers with 100% renewable, zero-carbon energy, well ahead of the state’s 2030 RPS benchmarks.

Deborah has vowed to be a fierce warrior for urgent climate action in the California State Assembly. She also wants to ensure that progress, whether through clean energy expansion, utility reform, or infrastructure upgrades, is inclusive and equitable.

Climate Action California believes that Deborah’s considerable passion, financial know-how, and climate-centered leadership experience will be a great asset to her district, and all of California, for years to come. That is why we are pleased to endorse Deborah for State Assembly.
