A former classroom teacher and school administrator, Robert Garcia was elected to the Assembly in 2024 and immediately got to work fighting for a greener, cleaner California for his constituents. He stood up to corporate polluters to improve our air quality and keep our water clean
Most notably was AB 1280, which opened the door to new thermal energy storage projects that will ultimately reduce pressure on the grid, thus lowering electricity bills for Californians and accelerating the transition to renewable energy. He also authored AB 1777, The California Clean Skies Act: a powerful bill to reduce air pollution and protect the health of his constituents. Climate Action California is a strong supporter of this bill. And we can’t not mention his role as a driving force behind California’s $10B Climate Bond Act of 2024.
