Born and raised in Los Angeles, David Girón has dedicated his career as a public servant to improving the lives of Angelenos. David has an extensive track record of proposing, drafting, and budgeting for a wide range of climate-focused legislation, including renewable energy deployment, electrification, building decarbonization, and elimination of fossil fuels and single use plastics.
As a state assemblymember, David will make the following urgent climate issues his priority:
- Creating the correct balance of incentives and penalties that will allow California to meet our ambitious emission goals,
- Building a reliable and resilient electric grid with the proper energy mix to meet future and current demand, and
- Training a generation of workers to accomplish both of these goals in a very short timeframe.
We believe that David’s extensive experience working on legislation in the city of Los Angeles will make him a highly progressive and effective Assemblymember.
