Supervisor Jaron Brandon brings a unique perspective and strong work ethic to leadership. He grew up in a trailer park in a small community, and rose to become Tuolumne County Supervisor in 2019. As a local official, he learned how to solve complex problems in a county with very limited resources. This was also a region that was devastated by wildfires in 2013, and Jaron worked hard to help his county adapt to the growing demands of climate change.
Jaron believes that vulnerable communities like his have the most to gain from the green economy, but only if they have a representative at the table who will fight for their needs. If elected, Jaron plans to lead by authoring rural-focused climate policy that will create jobs, harden infrastructure, and protect natural resources.
Jaron will make affordability the bedrock of his tenure, prioritizing efficient housing, lower energy rates, and forest management to prevent wildfires like the one in 2013. Climate Action California believes that he will be a fresh, strong voice for underrepresented rural communities on the front lines of climate change. Because of that, we happily endorse Jaron for election to California Senate.
