Glendale City Council: Alek Bartrosouf

Alek Bartrosouf

Alek Bartrosouf knows that climate change is not just a global issue. The effects of a warming planet directly impact the city of Glendale, through increased threat of wildfires, deadly heatwaves, and higher energy costs. And Alek has been taking action since he was still in school.

At Glendale Community College, he created The Coalition for a Green Glendale, which advised the city on its Greener Glendale Plan and advocated successfully for Glendale to adopt its own Plastic Bag Ordinance. More recently, he has volunteered as chairperson of Glendale’s Sustainability Commission, and currently sits on the board of the Glendale Environmental Coalition, where he advocates for climate-conscious policies, tree plantings, and more.

Climate Action California believes that Alek has demonstrated a commitment to a cleaner, greener Glendale. Moreover, his experience as a Supervising Transportation Planner at the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) means that he will have a strong grasp of the specific infrastructure needs of his community. Climate Action California is pleased to endorse Alek for Glendale City Council.
