Since her election to the California Assembly in 2018, Tasha Boerner has been a constant voice in Sacramento fighting for affordability, sustainability, equality, and opportunity, especially for coastal communities.
Tasha has authored 32 bills which have become law, including historic legislation addressing pollution, the climate crisis, and the high cost of electricity. For example, AB 14 was a powerful bill that implemented the Protecting Blue Whales and Blue Skies (PBWBS) Program, a voluntary vessel speed reduction and sustainable shipping program designed to reduce whale strikes and air pollution. And bills like AB 823 and AB 2253 will greatly reduce the amount of plastic in our landfills, while simultaneously lowering emissions by reducing demand for fossil fuels.
She has also been appointed to vital committees addressing the climate crisis, such as the Select Committee on Sea Level Rise and the California Economy, and the Select Committee on Climate Innovation and Infrastructure.
Based on her strong record of authoring and voting on bills designed to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and bring down the cost of energy, Climate Action California is excited to endorse Assemblymember Tasha Boerner for re-election.
