Since her election to the California State Assembly in 2022, Dawn Addis has championed the health of her constituents and the environment, and made fighting climate change a top priority.
Asm Addis was a driving force behind 2024’s Climate Bond (Prop 4) which raised $10 billion for local projects that strengthen communities: protecting drinking water, reducing wildfire and flood risks, restoring natural places, supporting healthy working lands, and expanding access to parks and outdoor spaces.
In 2025, Asm Addis was the main author in the Assembly of the Polluters Pay Climate Superfund Act (AB 1243), which would have required fossil fuel polluters to pay their fair share of the damage caused by greenhouse gases. And this year, she is working hard to pass important legislation to protect our fragile coastline from toxic chemicals and offshore oil catastrophes.
